The new line is designed to provide flexibility and precise tension
Norelem, standard parts specialist, has released a new chain tensioner line in three sizes, developed to provide maximum flexibility and precise tension in chain drive systems
The range includes tension force options and robust materials to protect components from wear. Designed to be adaptable, the new line covers virtually every machine engineering requirement, including tight installation situations and heavy-duty chain applications.
Chain tensioners are used across a wide range of machines and systems to maintain constant chain tension and compensate for gradual lengthening caused by wear.
Norelem's new chain tensioners have been designed for free-running, resilient operation to help prevent excessive bearing load while controlling the total force from the chain's weight and centrifugal force on the slack line.
The new chain tensioners should be placed directly behind the drive wheel to reduce the slack side length. The chain tensioner housing is available in plastic, steel, or stainless steel for more challenging applications, and the sliding sections are made of ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethene (PE-UHMW).
Almir Jakupovic, sales director at norelem, said, “With our new chain tensioner line, we’re giving engineers flexible, reliable solutions for maintaining optimal chain performance. The three size options and adjustable tension forces mean there’s a suitable model for every application, whether that’s compact systems, heavy-duty machinery, or anything in between”
Size TS features a standard galvanised steel housing coated with acrylic enamel and is available with either a curved or elliptical profile. The tensioning system also includes two pre-transitioned compression springs that can be separately released for three tension levels:
- Right spring released- high tension
- Left spring released- low tension
- Both springs released- extra high tension
Size zero is compact and suitable for tight installation spaces, available in light spring force (58-32N) or Increased spring force (132-60N). With its narrow design, it is ideal for confined spaces, and the plastic housing helps prevent corrosion.
Size one is versatile and is available in low spring force (174-32N) or increased spring force (396-60N), with form A for short housing and form B for long housing.
