ASM is launching the Posichron PCFP24 magnetostrictive linear position sensor with a measurement range of up to 5750 mm
Position sensor manufacturer ASM is introducing a new magnetostrictive position sensor with an innovative flat housing.
Known as the Posichron model PCFP24, the sensor has a height of only 12 mm, making is suitable for numerous applications where limited space is available.
Posichron is an absolute, contact-free and wear-free measuring system designed for almost all industrial applications. The PCFP24 has absolutely no protrusion in the form of screws, connectors or probes extending beyond the 12 mm construction.
The sensor can be installed easily by means of mounting brackets. With this design the sensor position can be adjusted over its whole mechanical length. The system is wear-resistant and maintenance-free and easily copes with shock and vibration.
ASM’s Posichron PCFP24 is available with analogue interfaces for voltage (10V) or current (4-20mA) output as well as an SSI or digital pulse output start/stop, which makes it integrate the sensor with electronics for use on fieldbus systems. The sensor’s measurement range is up to 5750 mm and the unit is sealed to IP67 with an M8 connector and IP68 with cable output.
