The Heico Fastening Systems array of bolt fastening products includes the Heico-Lock® range of washers and one-piece wedge lock nuts, as well as the innovative ‘Best of Industry Award’ Winners 2023, the Heico-Lock® Combi-Washers.
The Heico-Lock® Wedge Locking System delivers high quality anti-vibration security for the most demanding of bolted joint applications. Even under extremes of vibration or dynamic loads, Heico-Lock® Wedge Lock Washers provide maximum reliability.
When tightening a bolt, the external radial teeth of the Heico-Lock® Wedge Locking Washers embed themselves in an interlocking fashion with the respective mating service. If the securing system is subject to dynamic stress, movement is only possible between the internal washer surfaces. This results in an increase in the preload force.
The Heico-Lock® Wedge Lock Washers are a certified system for securing bolts, which can work with low and high preload levels and are particularly suitable for dynamic loads, including when using lubricants.
The Heico-Lock® Wedge Lock Washers are supplied as a pre-assembled pair making it very easy to install and remove, and can be re-used. Suitable for high-tensile bolts of 8.8, 10.9 and 12.9 and their respective nuts, they are available in steel and stainless steel with narrow or broad bearing surfaces. Other special materials available include 254 SMO® and INCONEL®/Alloy 718. These special materials offer superior resistance in highly corrosive environments (i.e. seawater and acids), with a high temperature stability.
Sizes range from M3 – M76 and ¼” – 3”. All stock is held in the UK, with next day delivery usually achievable. Custom sizes are available upon request, which means they can be used in various applications, especially within the Offshore industry, Renewable Energy, Manufacturing and Mechanical engineering.
For larger bolted joints we offer the HEICO-TEC® Tensioning Systems, which eliminate the need for complex, bulky or heavy specialist tools as the user only requires a hand torque wrench to achieve the required tension, saving both time and money.
The HEICO-TEC® Tension Nut is unique in the fact that the pretension force of the large main thread is distributed to many smaller pressure bolts. Because the pressure bolts are smaller, a conventional torque wrench can be used to achieve the correct pretension force.
HEICO-TEC® Tension Nut meet strength class 8 and 10 as well as meeting all requirements of ISO 898-2. Sizes range form M20-M120 strength class 8, and M20-M90 strength class 10, making it easier to replace any hex nut from the same strength class, while offering all the advantages of a hand tightened nut, and can also be re-used several times.
