Langley Alloys supplies high-performance alloys as bars, plates, pipes and fittings on a worldwide basis from our sites in the UK and USA. Our focus is duplex, super duplex and Nit50/60 stainless steels, plus nickel alloys. We act as a master distributor, supporting end users, OEMs and sub-contractors with their immediate requirements on a global basis, with sales to more than 50 different countries.
Our stock range focuses on high-performance alloys used in demanding applications such as energy, chemical processing, mining, aerospace and space exploration, water treatment and desalination.
Our core stock programme includes:
-
Solid bars up to 20” (508mm) in diameter
-
Plate up to 3” (76.2mm) in thickness
-
Pipes in scheduled sizes, plus flanges and fittings to order
-
Hollow bars
Super duplex stainless steels
Langley Alloys is the premier distributor of super duplex stainless steels. Having created the very first grade, Ferralium® 255, in the 1960’s we now stock the most complete range of grades. This is supported by our partnerships with blue-chip producers such as Alleima (Sandvik) and Voestalpine Bohler edelstahl. Our range of grades includes:
-
Ferralium® 255 (UNS S32550, DIN 1.4507, ASTM A182 F61)
-
S32760 (DIN 1.4501, ASTM A182 F55)
-
S32750 (DIN 1.4410, ASTM A182 F53)
-
S31803 / S32205 (DIN 1.4462, ASTM A182 F51/F60)
Nickel-based alloys
We continue to invest strongly in a range of popular nickel-based alloys that provide high-strength, a wide temperature operating range and resistance to stress corrosion cracking. These include:
-
Alloy 718 (UNS N07718, DIN 2.4668)
-
Alloy 625 (UNS N06625, DIN 2.4856)
-
Alloy 725 (UNS N07725)
-
Alloy 825 (UNS N08825, DIN 2.4858)
-
Alloy 925 (UNS N09925)
-
Alloy K-500 (UNS N05500, DIN 2.4375)
Several other grades in our portfolio reflect our rich history as a producer going back as far as 1938, including:
-
the high strength Naval alloy Hiduron® 130 (DIN 2.1504), which is now widely used in subsea components such as couplings, connectors, stab plates and valve trim.
-
the copper bearing alloy Hidurel® 5 (DIN 2.0855), used as a major engine bearing on the Spitfire aircraft and still specified in aerospace applications today.
With a number of metallurgists in our team, we are comfortable reviewing and meeting end user specifications – more than 2,000 of which are held in our system.
Added value services
Over the last few years, we have grown our ability to offer a range of added value services in-house with our own qualified inspectors and staff. This includes non-destructive testing such as ultrasonic and dye penetrant inspection; machining services including deep hole boring; additional product testing and 3.2 inspection.
