Air Control Industries’ new flexible nozzles use the company’s airknife technology to clean and dry objects on conveyors without causing damage
A new drying/cleaning technique designed for conveyorised applications that require vigorous air movement is being introduced by Air Control Industries. It is particularly appropriate where product might be vulnerable to contact or surface damage.
Based upon ACI’s cost-efficient, blower-powered Airknife technology, the new system employs a bank (or banks) of flexible nozzles that move back and forth across the conveyor while delivering high volumes of air at low pressure. This simple reciprocating action, combined with high-volume, low-pressure air delivery, effectively dislodges residual moisture or debris trapped in awkward places to achieve greater efficiency.
The nozzles, which are fabricated from a material that is both flexible and hardwearing, are simple to fit and adjust. The flexibility of the material means the nozzles may be hit or deflected by the product without risk of damage – and then return immediately to their normal operating state. This last feature permits air to be delivered close to product for further enhancement of the drying/cleaning functions.
ACI’s new system is excellent for drying/cleaning many different products, including automotive bodies/components, food produce, crates and large intricate engineered components.
