The system is based on the upgrade to the Aqua Spine 3.0 which is an extendable rail system that attaches to any surfaces. This gives the Power Head a stable platform to move along during operation.
An upgrade has also been fitted to the Ergo Climbers which now use version 3.0 featuring seamless compatibility with the new system. A support system has been created to support the Aqua Spine and Ergo Climbers. The support system is customisable.
The entire system is suitable for a range of hydrodemolition work and is compatible with the Aqua Cutter 750V hydrodemolition and Ergo system. Contractors are equipped with a system that is highly adaptable and ready-to-use setup capable of tracking complex applications.
Roger Simonsson, managing director of Aquajet, said: “We noticed a pain point where contractors are still using hand lances for jobs that can be accomplished more quickly with a Hydrodemolition robot, given the right setup. To make it easier to deploy Hydrodemolition robots in even the toughest environments, we upgraded both the Aqua Spine and Ergo Climbers, and developed a fully customizable Support System with adjustable legs, brackets and rotatable joints. This allows contractors to purchase a system tailored specifically to their project needs, ensuring the right configuration for each job."
The system can be used for tunnel, bridge, silo and dam wall repairs and refractory applications. The Aqua Spine 3.0 increases range and flexibility of applications for both on and offshore uses. New passable mounts, brackets, support legs, adapter plates, and feet make up the Aqua Spine. This allows users to build longer setups when needed, rather than having to constantly move a shorter setup along the removal area.
After the upgrade, the system is now lighter than previous versions but can handle up to 60% more load and offers 50% more torque. It is also compatible with the Circular Power Head and Aqua Centraliser. A ring mounted to the Aqua Spine based is used for work on pipes or inside tunnels.
Further compatibility with both the Climber and Spine system can be constructed inside a complete circle, and all spine parts are assembled with either M16 or M20 bolts, with an interchangeable CC80 hole pattern.
Simonsson added: “With this new Support System, contractors can easily adjust the support legs to exact heights or angles, ensuring stability and optimal positioning for their Hydrodemolition project, regardless of the surface or environment. The true value, however, lies in its reusability and scalability. If a future project requires different specifications, the system can be reconfigured or expanded with additional components. This flexibility reduces the need for entirely new setups, saving both time and resources, while keeping contractors prepared for any challenge that comes their way.”
