The Denso Overcoat System is a highly effective, user-friendly solution that performs well in harsh, corrosive environments and can be applied directly to marginally prepared surfaces (SSPC SP 2-3), eliminating the need for abrasive blasting and reducing downtime, labour costs, and application time. It is suitable for new construction and maintenance applications where long-lasting protection is essential.
The Covercoat System’s high conformability and strong adhesion enable it to encapsulate irregular shapes and profiles, providing instant, uniform protection regardless of the underlying substrate. The system is UV-resistant and can encapsulate lead paint, providing an added layer of safety during remediation projects. As it can be applied without requiring a plant shutdown, the Covercoat System reduces operational disruptions and helps save costs over the life of the asset.
Once applied, Denso Covercoat forms a durable barrier with 20 years of corrosion resistance. The system provides long-term, cost-effective corrosion protection that resists acids, alkalis, salts, and other aggressive environmental conditions. Its unique formulation eliminates the risk of intercoat contamination and has demonstrated years of proven effectiveness in the field. The Denso Covercoat System comprises six products, each contributing to its performance:
- Denso Hi-Tack Primer- a high-melting-point petrolatum primer that penetrates rust, displaces moisture, and enhances adhesion.
- Denso Profiling Mastic is used to smooth irregular profiles and seal around bolts and joints.
- Denso Hi-Tack Tape- a high-adhesion petrolatum tape which is applied to provide conformability and protection, with resistance to UV, acids, alkalis, and salts, and the ability to encapsulate lead paint.
- Denso D14 Scrim- a non-woven polyester designed to add strength and flexibility while conforming to complex shapes.
- Denso Basecoat Kit- a two-component, durable coating that forms a weatherproof, flexible outer layer that can be applied by brush or roller.
- Archco 15 Acrylic Topcoat- applied in two coats to provide a long-lasting and flexible finish.
