Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence is expanding the availability of the TORO HP horizontal arm coordinate measuring machine (CMM) across Europe and the Americas, offering a large-scale inspection solution to manufacturers seeking to enhance quality control while managing cost pressures and production demands

Already established in the Chinese market, TORO HP is designed for high-volume manufacturing environments where large components and assemblies require fast, reliable dimensional inspection within or alongside production operations.

Gabriele Persichilli, director product management CMM at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, said, “Manufacturers today face increasing pressure to maintain quality standards while controlling costs and keeping production moving. TORO HP provides a practical, scalable inspection solution for large-scale manufacturing environments, combining the performance manufacturers expect from a horizontal arm CMM with an accessible cost of ownership, simplified installation and lower operating costs through an air-free design that reduces energy consumption.”

Developed for automotive and heavy-industry applications, TORO HP supports the inspection of large parts and assemblies where traditional measurement systems may be difficult to integrate into production workflows. Its architecture enables easy access to measurement areas, while floor-mounted and flush-floor installation options provide flexibility for differing factory layouts.

Built for Production Environments

TORO HP is suitable for manufacturers seeking to perform inspections closer to production, enabling verification of dimensional accuracy without disrupting manufacturing flow.

Key benefits include:

  • Cost-effective horizontal arm measurement for large-scale inspection applications
  • Flexible installation options to accommodate a range of facility requirements
  • No compressed air requirement, reducing operating costs, energy consumption, and maintenance complexity
  • Support for near-line inspection workflows
  • Compatibility with multi-sensor measurement technologies
  • Seamless integration with Hexagon metrology software and sheet metal inspection routines

Reducing Installation Complexity, Energy Consumption and Operating Costs

TORO HP has been designed to simplify installation and ownership; it can be installed with reduced infrastructure requirements, helping manufacturers bring inspection capabilities online more quickly while minimising facility modifications.

The CMM can also operate without compressed air, reducing operating costs and energy consumption while supporting manufacturers’ sustainability objectives.

Expanding Hexagon’s Horizontal Arm Portfolio

Introducing TORO HP to Europe and the Americas helps Hexagon to strengthen its portfolio of horizontal metrology solutions. TORO HP and BRAVO provide manufacturers with solutions spanning a range of accuracy, throughput, and production requirements.

Both platforms support Hexagon’s latest sensing technologies, including HP-L-10.10 and HP-L-10.10 Litre laser scanners, helping manufacturers to deploy advanced non-contact measurement capabilities across a variety of inspection workflows.
