DeepOcean completes subsea construction and tie-back work on the UK Continental Shelf

DeepOcean has completed subsea construction and tie-in work at the Teal West development on the UK Continental Shelf for Anasuria Operating Company

Teal West is an offshore oil and gas development project in the Central North Sea, on the UK Continental Shelf. The field has been developed as a subsea tieback to the existing Anasuria floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) facility.

DeepOcean’s work included installing a flexible production riser and flowline, together with an umbilical connecting the Anasuria FPSO to the Teal West subsea Christmas tree. The company also had to protect the flowline and umbilical and commission the newly installed infrastructure.

The operation was executed using a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) combined with specialised tooling, replacing the need for diver intervention. DeepOcean’s tie-in tool performs diverless connections for high-pressure flanges, enabling the connection of pipes and valves using subsea robotics.

The field development contains two production wells and a water injection well. Initially, one production well will be connected to the Anasuria FPSO via 3km of subsea flowlines. The Anasuria FPSO is situated 180km east of Aberdeen at 90m of water depth.

DeepOcean’s Aberdeen office led the engineering and project management for the subsea construction and tie-in scope of work.

Offshore operations were executed in a phased approach, with subsea construction and tie-in activities completed first, followed by commissioning performed by a second offshore construction vessel from DeepOcean’s chartered fleet.
