Eight new ROVs set to join existing fleet of 60 units
Ocean services provider DeepOcean is set to add eight remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) to its existing fleet of 60 in a comprehensive expansion of its fleet, moving to take modern electric ROV technology into its arsenal.
Three ROVs have been delivered with the remaining five still on the way, scheduled for delivery within the next four years. An additional 13 units are available as options.
DeepOcean and Kystdesign have signed an agreement for seven ROVs, of which two have been delivered, with a further unit being delivered by Argus Remote Systems. Kystdesign will provide two electric work class ROVs (WROV) and one electric observation ROV. Options exist for eight electric WROVs and five observation ROVs.
Argus Remote Systems delivered DeepOcean’s first electric work class ROV in May which was installed on the uncrewed surface vessel, the USV Challenger. It can operate down to 1,500 meters water depth and is a fully electric WROV with hydraulic capabilities which can be fully controlled from shore.

Two Constructor-series WROVs from Kystdesign have been mobilised on Island Ocean, with two more similar WROVs set for delivery and mobilisation on the Orient Adventurer vessel in 2026.
