Compact vacuum meters are ideally suited for on-site inspection of equipment and plants in industry and research. They are typically used for service and maintenance tasks, laboratory applications, in the food and packaging industry as well as for quality assurance and process documentation.

Various application options

The direct display of current measurement values and pressure graphs is especially helpful for service and maintenance work as well as for test setups and in the test field. It allows a quick diagnosis of problems and enables preventive maintenance and thus the optimization of production processes.

The option to save and to document separate measurement series is a crucial aspect for quality assurance in production and manufacturing. With the appropriate software the data can be analyzed, saved, and documented on a PC.

To ensure the functionality of vacuum isolations, e.g., for cryogenic liquid gases, vacuum meters can be used to regularly check the existing isolation vacuum.

In the food industry amongst others, the vacuum meters can be shrink wrapped directly into a packaging to check the vacuum packaging system. This allows to draw conclusions on the final pressure reached and the tightness of the packaging, as well as to monitor transport parameters. Via Bluetooth® it is also possible to start an online measurement from inside the sealed package.

In the automotive and refrigeration industries, vacuum meters can be used for venting, leak testing and drying. In vacuum chambers and plants, the leak rate can be determined directly on the device by rate of rise measurement.

VD810 – Fast and Efficient

The new VD810 vacuum meter by Thyracont Vacuum Instruments meets the needs of its users. Its big graphic display shows current measurement values and pressure graphs as well as minimum and maximum pressure. The membrane keypad provides for a comfortable, menu-driven operation. A large internal data logger holds more than 10 million measurement values with their RTC data, saving each measurement series as a separate file.

The USB-C interface – or optional Bluetooth® LE for wireless data transfer – allows a direct read-out of the measured data and the export of measurement series stored in the data logger. Storage rate, recording period and logging rates from 20 ms to 1 min can be individually set in the menu. The devices are thus suited for both recording highly dynamic pressure curves and long-term measurements.

The stored measurement data can be read out, plotted, analyzed, and exported using appropriate PC software. A documentation of productions processes and test series is therefore extremely simple.

With its resistant ceramic sensor, the VD810 measures gas-type independently in the rough vacuum range, covering absolute pressure from 2000 to 1 mbar and relative pressure from max. -1060 to +1200 mbar.  Insensitive to contamination, the vacuum meter is also suitable for rough industrial environments.

Thyracont Vacuum Instruments will be at SEMICON 2024, November 12-15, 2024 in Munich: Hall C2, Stand 370.
