The new Haver & Boecker Integra IV series for valve bags can increase efficiency and cleanliness within the mineral and chemical packaging industries

The new series features a complete Plug ‘n’ Pack system that integrates the packing machines, bag applicator, and discharge system to maximise performance while reducing commissioning and installation efforts.

Erik Hartman, head of the building product business unit at Haver & Boecker Machinery Division, said, “The Integra IV series meets the unique requirements of a variety of industries and makes life easier for producers. Each machine is customized to spec through the configuration system. For customers seeking a cleaner and quieter packing solution, the Intergra IV gives a compelling alternative to wannabe-housed or unhoused packing machines in industries where hygiene, safety, and flexibility are top priorities.”

The Integra IV series includes a bagging unit and bagging applicator integrated into the external housing. The housed machine supports up to four filling spouts with a range of bag lengths and widths. It can be equipped with an impeller- or air-based filling and dosing unit.

Full-line communication between all machines is possible with the Haver & Boecker MEC 4.0 weighing system. The new human-machine interface (HMI) system with an integrated industrial personal computer (IPC) enables the machine to be tailored to a specific industry, ensuring optimal performance without unnecessary complexity.

The enclosed housing has been redesigned with all critical components hung rather than floor-mounted to keep dust contained during filling, maintaining a cleaner environment. For easier cleaning, the cabinet features large openings and new doors, reducing interior cleaning time by around 50%.

The bag magazine and chair also fold open to facilitate easier cleaning and operator access. The application arm is capable of diagonal motion as well as horizontal and vertical movements, increasing performance speeds by up to 10%.

Swivel-mounted switch cabinets increase accessibility for maintenance and repairs. The pneumatics and cladding elements are central in a single easy-to-access space with cables and hoses, to protect electrical components.

The newest Integra generation can be equipped with specialised AI technology, QUAT²RO product suite:

  • 1. QUAT²RO Bagcheck prevents the issue of packing the right products into the wrong bag. The system achieves this by scanning the empty bag to ensure it matches the product specifications defined by the operator. If the bag placed on the spout is incorrect, the packer will not begin the filling process.
  • 2. QUAT²RO Valvecheck can increase production by an average of 10% by detecting if the valve bag is sufficiently opened to ensure a precise application of the bag. Bags with improper openings will be dropped, and a new bag will be retrieved.
  • 3. QUAT²RO Matexcheck reduces the risks involved with bursting bags, increasing operator safety, and preventing hours of cleaning. The Matex system uses a high-definition camera to monitor the bag as it is being filled, triggering a stop if a bag bursts.
  • 4. QUAT²RO Sealcheck detects improper and incorrect bag closures by monitoring every bag as it is transported from the packer to the palletiser. Sealcheck can ensure that the bags that are not properly sealed will not leave the facility.
