Piping design plays an outsized role in project performance across various industries, including chemicals, oil and gas, nuclear, food and beverage. On average, pipework consumes over 20% of engineering hours. In sectors such as oil and gas or maritime, the global assurance company DNV has found that tubes and piping are the most likely components to fail, potentially leading to costly consequences.
Caeser II 15
Caesar II is used by engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firms and owner-operators to assess flexibility, loads, and compliance with piping codes for oil and gas, power, manufacturing, and other industries.
The latest version has expanded support for standards such as ASME and IBC, as well as various new improvements to elevate performance and compliance across the board, including:
- The latest updates to piping codes, including ASME B31.3 Process Piping 2024, B31.1 Power Piping 2024 and more.
- Updates to PD5500 and IBC for nozzle and environmental loadings, respectively, and the latest B31G for corroded pipelines.
- Improvements have been made to support multiple editions of codes and standards, as well as to simplify report generation.
- The implementation of the B31J 2023 edition and the addition of new configuration directives give engineers more control.
Pipestress 8
Pipestress is a pipe stress system with a heavy focus on nuclear and safety-related projects, utilised by owner-operators such as EDF and by design and engineering firms, such as IDOM and AFRY
Pipestress 8 has been designed to help facilities to achieve advanced safety and performance. The latest version offers enhanced support for industry codes, such as ASME and EN, as well as:
- Updates to nuclear codes such as ASME BPVC Sec III Div 1 NB and NCD, RCC-M 2022 and ASME high-density polyethylene (HDPE) piping. Improvements to the Heat Transfer and Fatigue solvers have also enhanced Class 1 calculation capabilities.
- ASME B31J 2017, ASME B31.1 2022, EN 13480 2024, and B31.3 2024 have been introduced to Pipestress's catalogue of codes.
- Updates to ASME B31E for the accurate calculations of seismic loads in high-reliability designs.
- This release of Pipestress includes the first release of a new next-generation solver, which can provide performance improvements and capabilities such as multiple modal extraction, multiple time histories, and consistent-mass-model modal analysis.
- The next-generation solver also implements the new RCC-MRx standard for perfecting the design of high-temperature, research, and fusion reactors.
