A practical introduction to cloud-based big data analysis
imc Test & Measurement has introduced Famos Reader 2026, an updated version of its free measurement data analysis software that enables quick review and visualisation of measurement data and supports the direct preview of Apache Parquet files in Microsoft Windows Explorer
Apache ParquetTM is a powerful format for large, structured datasets and is playing an increasingly important role, particularly in large data applications and cloud-based architectures. The new Famos Reader simplifies the first step in processing data in the cloud: When a Parquet file is selected in Windows Explorer, Famos Reader 2026 displays the contained measurement as a graph. Users can switch between measurement channels using a scroll bar, zoom in on and navigate the data in Explorer, and display metadata. Users can evaluate, organise, and prepare large measurement datasets for further analysis more quickly.
The preview function enables an efficient decision-making process for determining which datasets should be forwarded, archived, or examined in detail. Famos Reader 2026 displays an Apache Parquet file selected in Windows Explorer as a graph, offering a speed advantage because it does not require launching. One measurement channel is displayed graphically at a time, and a scroll bar enables quick switching between channels. Zooming and navigating in MS Windows Explorer can be done using the mouse. In addition to the graphical display, the metadata in the file can be viewed.
Upon launching Famos Reader, users will have access to additional features, including in-depth calculations, PDF export, and overlays across multiple files, providing a quick preview and practical options for further data evaluation.
The Famos Reader 2026 provides immediate visual interpretation of measurement data, integrating into contemporary, data-driven workflows. This can improve efficiency and enable engineers to effectively evaluate large datasets derived from diverse sources, including test benches, vehicle tests, field trials, and monitoring applications.
