Metso will provide two horizontal grinding mills
Gruvaktiebolaget Viscaria has placed an order with Metso to provide two horizontal grinding mills for its newly reopened copper mine in Kiruna, Sweden
Viscaria hopes to take on a significant role within the European market, becoming Sweden’s second-largest copper producer, thanks to its annual production of 120,000 tonnes of copper concentrate. The order value is EUR 16 million, and is booked in the Minerals segment’s 2026 first-quarter orders received.
Metso’s delivery includes Select SAG and ball mills, as well as pre-engineered solutions in the Metso Plus portfolio that simplify equipment selection and ordering through standardisation. The pre-engineered mills also facilitate faster delivery times, reduced project costs, and streamlined execution, making them ideal for efficiency-focused mine restarts like Viscaria’s reopening.
The Select mills deliver enhanced performance through efficiency, reliability, high availability, and productivity, with conservative design parameters and robust components suitable for demanding applications.
