PI, a precision motion control and nanopositioning company, has added a new high-dynamics linear motor stage family, the V573, to its portfolio
The V573 is a series of linear positioning stages with guiding precision and frictionless three-phase linear motors.

The V573 has been designed for XY configurations, with the stages integrating seamlessly with PI's ACS-based EtherCAT motion controllers, leveraging advanced algorithms for enhanced system performance.
The advanced stage design provides for straightness and flatness values as low as 1µm. Crossed roller bearings enable high stiffness, smooth operation, and an extended lifespan. Their line-contact design reduces friction, improves accuracy, and supports higher loads, with an anti-creep mechanism for improved reliability.
Ran by non-cogging, three-phase direct-drive linear motors, the stages provide maintenance-free performance, enabling smooth motion at high velocities and accelerations. Direct force transmission, combined with direct-measuring linear encoders, prevents backlash and play, enhancing precision and bidirectional repeatability.
The V-573 is available with either incremental or absolute encoders; the absolute encoder models deliver 1nm resolution and provide immediate position feedback upon power-up, eliminating the need for referencing moves for efficient and safe startup.
