New integration connects test data management and signal analysis

End-to-end measurement data analysis with FAMOS and ASAMCommander based on ASAM ODS

imc Test & Measurement and HighQSoft have streamlined the analysis workflow for technical measurement data, enabling measurements from HighQSoft’s ASAMCommander to be opened and processed directly in FAMOS

This new integration will allow test engineers to search and filter ASAMCommander measurement data and immediately transfer it to FAMOS.

This will create a seamless workflow from centralised test data management to detailed signal analysis. Users can select measurements in ASAMCommander and analyse them in FAMOS, including channels, units, sampling rates, and metadata. This saves time by eliminating manual file exports and makes it easier to work in a controlled manner with complex measurement data.

ASAMCommander is a web-based test data management application developed on AReS Libertas, an ASAM ODS 6 server from HighQSoft. The software enables engineering teams to search, filter, and manage measurement data across the entire organisation.

FAMOS is a software environment for the analysis, visualisation, automation, and documentation of large-scale measurement data, including automotive test data from test-bench applications, proving-ground and validation drives, as well as in the railway, aerospace, and mechanical engineering industries.

The new integration connects the structured management and provisioning of measurement data in ASAMCommander with the measurement data evaluation in FAMOS. Test engineers can continue to use existing FAMOS analysis workflows, macros, and reporting processes, while measurement data remains stored in the ASAM ODS repository.

With the current release FAMOS 2026 +AI, engineers gain further interfaces to cloud and big data workflows through new support for Apache Parquet and MDF4 files, an improved AI assistant for creating and implementing evaluation steps, calculations, and visualisations, new signal processing functions with extended analysis capabilities, and enhanced visualisation, selection, and reporting features for time-efficient and targeted evaluation of large-scale measurement data, as well as consistent and professional reports in corporate design.

The connection is technically based on open interfaces and standards. FAMOS provides a flexible Python API. HighQSoft uses pyHQL, a Python library for the HQL Query Language on ASAM ODS. This allows measurement data from the ASAM ODS system to be integrated into FAMOS sequences. No proprietary plugins, special vendor SDKs, or recompilation of applications are needed.

For extensive test campaigns, this integration offers clear advantages: relevant measurements can be selected from thousands of datasets in ASAMCommander, transferred to FAMOS, and evaluated immediately there. This handover simplifies the evaluation of vehicle tests, test branch trials, and other data-intensive development and validation processes.

Daniel Förder, strategic product manager software at imc Test & Measurement, said, "FAMOS 2026 +AI can be easily connected to modern, cloud-based data management systems while supporting established standards such as ASAM ODS. This allows us to combine centralised data storage with powerful measurement data analysis – helping test and validation teams evaluate large volumes of data significantly faster and more productively."

At Automotive Testing Expo Europe 2026 in Stuttgart, June 23-25, 2026, visitors will be able to experience FAMOS 2026 +AI live and discuss specific post-processing applications in automotive testing with imc experts.
