Danobat looks to revolutionise manufacturing processes with its latest development
Machine tool manufacturer Danobat marks its entry to the industrial robotics sector with its DMTR range. Danobat hopes its robots will set a new benchmark in accuracy and efficiency by combining robot flexibility with machine tooling stability and precision.
When compared with other solutions on the market, the DMTR range attains three times the pose accuracy with high levels of pose repeatability in critical operations such as drilling, riveting, and tapping.
Path accuracy is also three times higher than the industry standard, making it a suitable option for complex machining and high-precision additive manufacturing. Integration is simple, as it already uses numerical control (CNC) for its programming.
Xabier Alzaga, CEO of Danobat, said: "The DMTR range combines the accuracy and stability of a machine tool with the agility and flexibility of a six-axis robot, opening new production possibilities for key sectors like aerospace, automotive and energy. This achievement merges Danobat’s deep expertise in high-precision technology with the know-how of our specialised team in precision robotics based in Switzerland”.
A specific system for robot dynamics and control has been developed to accompany the new robot range, featuring 10 times less vibrations and 20% shorter cycle times for machining operations. This enhances productivity and quality in critical applications.
DMTR robots can handle composites, steel deposition operations, riveting, assembly, or 3D printing and performs well with flexibility and adaptability for a wide range of industrial applications.
Models range from a compact version featuring a 2.2-meter range and a payload capacity of 70kg to models capable of a 520kg payload with a 3.6-meter range.
The DMTR range was unveiled by Danobat at this year's JEC World Fair in Paris.
