Two new halls to be used to meet growing demand
PCIM Expo and Conference will return to Nuremberg, Germany, to play host to over 600 exhibitors and more than 450 presentations from 6th of May to the 8th. The Expo will open two new halls in response to the increase in demand from visitors.
Lisette Hausser, vice president PCIM at Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH, said: “The considerable interest from suppliers demonstrates the high relevance of the exhibition and presentation program with topics covering the entire power electronics value chain. And with this year’s expansion to six halls, compared to the four in previous years, we are offering suppliers even more space to showcase their latest innovations and developments in power electronics to an international trade audience.”
Exhibitors such as Infineon, Mitsubishi, Semikron Danfoss, and EPC will join the currently 606 registered exhibitors, of which 61% are international, in the new Halls 4 and A4 to showcase products at the power electronics, intelligent motion, renewable energy, and energy management. Products will also be featured from Toshiba, Novosense, Microelectronics, Renesas Electronics, and Endrich Bauelemente.
Over 160 exhibitors from 20 countries, including Italy, Japan, and France, will be attending the expo for the first time. The show will offer a more diverse pool of products and companies than in previous years. Networking will be heightened by the variety of nations being represented, allowing an opportunity for industry synergy across the globe, and helping accelerate new developments.
SPEA, ASYS Group, Parmi, Augsburg Diamond Foundry, and GE Aviation Systems are all taking part for the first time, with products ranging from power semiconductors, test and measurement technologies, and automation solutions to materials for different fields of application, such as aviation.
During the expo, presentations will offer insights into the latest innovations, sustainability, and future trends in the sector. Programmes have been designed to provide actionable knowledge across all three stages at the event.
The Technology Stage will play host to presentations and panel discussions on the latest research by leading universities and providers, with highlights including a sustainability presentation by Pink Thermosysteme and Wide Bandgap Divisions and Applications by Fraunhofer IAF.
Meanwhile, the Exhibitor stage will showcase innovations from companies with stalls at the event, including Hitachi, MacDermid, Cissoid, and Broadcom.
The third and final stage, E-Mobility and Energy Storage Stage, will have presentations focusing on current and future developments in power electronics for use in electromobility and energy storage. Multiple approaches, such as electric, hybrid, and fuel-cell vehicles will be discussed.
Presentations will be free online to watch on the event website.
PCIM Conference immediately follows the Expo, offering three days of first-time publications from academia and industry. Over 450 first-time publications will be at the event, sharing knowledge throughout the industry. The days are kicked off with a keynote speech, with expert speeches on current and future topics in the industry.
Dushan Boroyevich, CPES, will kick off the conference speaking about ‘Medium Voltage Power Electronics Building Blocks for Future Electronic Energy Networks’ whilst Michael Harrison, Enphase Energy will kick off the second day, with the topic of ‘Monolithically Integrated Bi-Directional Switch (BDS) GaN HEMT Technology’.
The third and final day is started by Johann Walter Kolar, ETH Zurich, with a keynote on ‘Challenges of Green Growth – Limited Energy Return on Energy Invested & Critical Raw Material Shortage’. A special session on ‘Circular Economy in Power Electronics’ which is organised by Ole Gerkensmeyer, Nexperia and a member of the PCIM Advisory Board, will take place on the final day.
First-hand experience can be gained at the half-day PCIM Seminars, providing an opportunity to delve into specialist topics and gain practical know-how. The conference offers exclusive insight into new technologies and opens dialogue across industries, creating a platform for networking and creating strategic partnerships.
