PEI-Genesis first started as a small electronics distribution business in Philadelphia in 1946
PEI-Genesis, a specialist in the design and assembly of custom-engineered interconnect solutions, is celebrating 80 years of business, marking eight decades of innovation, specialisation, and trusted partnership with customers worldwide
Founded by Bernie Bernbaum and Murray Fisher in 1946, PEI-Genesis first started as a small electronics distribution business in Philadelphia, supplying vacuum tubes and test equipment to engineers in the post-World War II era. Over the decades, PEI-Genesis expanded across North America, Europe, and Asia, building a global footprint supported by connector expertise, rapid cycle times, and a reputation as a Trusted Advisor to engineers and OEMs.
In recent years, PEI-Genesis has evolved to meet the increasingly complex needs of its customers. Acquiring Testco in 2022, a supplier to the industrial and power electronics markets, enhanced PEI-Genesis’ capabilities in engineered interconnect solutions for demanding applications. In 2023, the company expanded into the RF connector market, broadening its portfolio to include high-frequency solutions for applications that require precision signal integrity, speed, and reliability.
In more recent news, PEI-Genesis acquired Bel Stewart, further reinforcing its global footprint, technical expertise, and ability to support customers with expanded connector and value-added manufacturing capabilities across international markets.
Steven Fisher, chairman and CEO of PEI-Genesis, said, “Celebrating 80 years is a reflection of our founders’ vision, the dedication of our employees, and the trust our customers place in us. Our ICARE values continue to guide how we work, how we serve, and how we show up to our customers and one another. While technology continues to advance, our commitment to expertise, service, and partnership remains unchanged.”
PEI-Genesis partners with connector manufacturers worldwide and maintains an inventory of connector components and custom assembly solutions in its global facilities to support customers across the military, industrial, aerospace, medical, transportation, energy markets, and more.
