Sysgo, a global developer of safety- and security-certified embedded real-time operating systems, and Karamba Security, a specialist in end-to-end product security, are collaborating to help connected-device manufacturers strengthen cybersecurity resilience as they prepare for compliance with the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA)
Sysgo recently launched ELinOS 8.0, the latest version of its embedded Linux operating system, with built-in security capabilities designed to help customers meet emerging regulatory requirements, including the CRA.
Karamba Security’s XGuard adds a layer of eight hard barriers that work alongside ELinOS’s native security stack, providing additional resilience against a growing wave of automated and AI-enabled attacks targeting connected and industrial devices.
Sysgo and Karambe Security have jointly tested the integration of XGuard with ELinOS 8.0 to confirm the two run reliably together in real-world deployments. Deployed together, XGuard’s runtime defence layers work in tandem with ELinOS’s security features, ensuring device vulnerabilities may become non-exploitable at runtime, without requiring source code changes or ongoing signature or CVE updates.
The collaboration will make it straightforward for ELinOS customers to explore additional protection: Sysgo will refer customers interested in extending their deployments with XGuard’s runtime defences to Karamba Security.
Jose Almeida, VP Sales at Sysgo, said, “As the Cyber Resilience Act reshapes requirements for connected devices, our customers need security that comes ready out of the box, not bolted on at the last minute. ELinOS 8.0 is built to help manufacturers meet CRA requirements off the shelf, and our collaboration with Karamba Security extends that foundation with an additional layer of runtime defence for customers who need it.”
David Barzilai, co-founder and CEO, Karamba Security, said, “Attackers are increasingly using AI to find and exploit vulnerabilities faster than defenders can patch them. Our work with SYSGO is about making sure that defence, industrial and connected systems built on ELinOS have defences that are AI-proof, so a device stays resilient even against threats nobody has seen before.”
