TPSMB-L Series for automotive TVS Diodes introduced by Littlefuse

New TVS Diodes feature industry-leading low clamping voltage

Industrial technology manufacturer Littlefuse has released its TPSMB-L Series for automotive TVS Diodes which are designed specifically for battery management systems (BMS) in 800V electric vehicles.

Industry-leading ultra-low clamping voltage (Vcl) gives greater protection for sensitive components including analog front end and battery management ICs.

Littlefuse has set aim at growing market demand for reliable, high-performance component in the EV market with its new Diodes. The focus has been set on safety and reliability, meeting ISO-26262 standards for functional safety in automotive systems.

Charlie Cai, director of product management at Protection Business at Littelfuse. “With the growing complexity and power demands of electric vehicle systems, protecting critical electronics components like AFEs and Battery Management Systems ICs is more important than ever.”

Applications for the new Diodes include; electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles using 800V battery systems, battery management systems for safety and longevity of AFEs and BMICs in 14- to 20-ce designs, and high-voltage automotive systems that require ISO-26262 compliance.

Cai added: “By combining ultra-low clamping voltage with automotive-grade performance, the TPSMB-L Series empowers engineers to meet stringent functional safety standards like ISO-26262 while providing robust reliability.”  

Key benefits of the new diodes include; automotive grade reliability with AEC-Q101 qualification and PPAP Level 3 compliance, high power handling with 600W peak pulse power capability in a SMB DO-214AA package, fast response time, and 14- to 20-ce BMS configurations.
