Spectrums new devices are easy to control over Ethernet
Seven new digitisers are available from Spectrum Instrumentation to provide automated acquisition and analysis of signals in the GHz range, better than before. The Digitisers use a simple Ethernet/LXI cable, with the DN2.33x series connecting directly to PCs, Laptops, and even the company network.
The digitisers are portable due to their lightweight, compact, and mobile design. State-of-the-art ADC technology is used to acquire electronic signals, which are capable of sampling at rates between 3.2GS/s and 10GS/s, featuring 12-bit vertical resolution. Bandwidths range between 1GHz and 4.7GHz.
Design for research and development along with industrial users, Spectrums products provide a complete measurement solution, having all the software necessary to capture, store, and analyse signals.
Plug-and-play features can be used by connecting the Gbit Ethernet port of the digitiserNetbox to a computer or a company network, allowing instant operation once the software starts running and is up and going. LXI compliance allows easy integration into most automated test systems.
Of the seven new models options of one or two channel variants exist, offering a maximum sampling rates of 3.2, 5, and 10GS/s, all featuring 12-bit resolution and bandwidths of 1, 2, 3, and 4.7 GHz.
Each channel has an ADC and independent front-end signal conditioning, with calibrated gain and offset. Four steps of input ranges are available, ranging from ±200 mV up to ±2.5 V. Dual-channel models are clocked synchronously, minimising phase errors and ensuring precision in cross-channel measurements.
Software wise, SBench 6 Professional can be used to control the units, being Spectrums software for acquisition, display, processing, analysis, storage, and documentation. The software comes free with each unit, but operators can use their own application-specific code if they wish.
