Industrial measurement and sensor specialist Wika has released a series of sensors that monitor the fundamental properties of gases and liquids in real time.
The models DTG-3-, DTL-30 and VTL-30 are characterised by their compact and robust design which enables them to be embedded into a range of applications, including in OEM products, systems and industrial environments. For example, the instruments can be integrated into tank trucks, fully equipped industrial skids, analysers or during retrofits. The compact design is possible through MesoScale technology, which is a combination of sensor design, sensor actuation and software.
The design, including wetted parts made of stainless steel 316L, ensures stability under harsh operation conditions. As the sensors are only subject to minimal drift and have no moving parts, they offer high long-term stability without the need for regular calibration. The instruments are certified for use in hazardous areas in accordance with ATEX, IECEx and FM.
The sensors deliver measuring results across the entire calibration range and offer high repeatability, according to Wika. They calculate confidence factors in real time to provide information about the quality and validity of measurements. Response times are short and measuring results are output at a frequency of 1 Hz.
The DTL-30 can detect misfuelling, and the VTL-30 measures the viscosity and density of amine solutions. The DTG-30 can be connected to the model BSU-30 calculation unit. This unit combines various sensor inputs and calculates parameters such as average molar mass and specific gravity.
