The SR103AM safety relay can accept single or dual normally-closed mechanical inputs or dual solid-state inputs from a safety light curtain
Scientific Technologies (STI) argues that, as safety-related control systems come in all shapes and sizes, OEMs and machine builders need system components that combine safety integrity with versatility. A new safety monitoring relay from the company provides just such benefits.
The SR103AM dual-channel safety monitoring relay is a fixed-terminal relay designed with flexibility in mind, allowing it to be used with a variety of different protective devices – such as light curtains and safety interlock switches – in an equally wide variety of safety applications. It satisfies all statutory requirements, including CE and BG approval, EN 60204-1, EN 954-1, VDE 0113-1 and UL and C-UL listing.
Capable of operating on 24V ac/dc, 115V ac or 230V ac, the SR103AM can accept single or dual normally-closed mechanical inputs or dual solid-state inputs from a safety light curtain.
The SR103AM provides three normally-open outputs, allowing it to be used directly with power contactors, plus one other normally-closed auxiliary output that can be used for signalling purposes.
External device monitoring (EDM) is included as standard, allowing the status of external devices, or the machine primary control element (MPCE), to be easily integrated into the safety system architecture for improved performance. The SR103AM also supports both monitored manual and automatic/manual reset modes for greater flexibility in use.
