New series enhances non-intrusive measurement
Automation provider Emerson has launched its new Flexim Fluxus Piox 731 series to provide a non-intrusive, clamp-on, ultrasonic flow meter for greater flexibility, convenience, and availability. Nine new models are available in the series, with each having high-performance volumetric and mass flow sensing technologies.
The 731 series has a robust and functional design. This helps give accurate and reliable measurements for both liquids and gases which does not have a process media pressure limitation.
On the market, there are not many solutions for manufacturers to take permanent or temporary flow measurements in areas where penetration into the process media would be problematic, due to a production interruption. Current solutions may not meet the performance requirements for a range of industrial applications.
Flexim 731 plugs this gap in the market by offering non-intrusive volumetric or mass flow measurements with no process media pressure limitations. This helps provide a cost-effective operation and low ownership costs. Assembly time is reduced by 20%, allowing for faster delivery thanks to the modular hardware design.
Disturbance correction comes fitted in the 731 series to provide enhanced accuracy, effective even in conditions such as disturbed flows. Advanced Meter Verification is featured to validate meter performance, with Wet Gas Correction to ensure accurate gas stream measurements. Dynamic Gas Meter features ensure a precise mass and volume correction.
Depending on specific needs will depend on which product is best. For general purposes, the Fluxus F/G731 GP is best. Pipelines and terminals can best benefit from the Fluxus H731 HPI, and chemical industries from the Piox S731. The Fluxus F731 WD was designed for waterways, and the Fluxus F731 TE is suitable for energy management.
Compressed air monitoring is best through the Fluxus G731 CA and the Fluxus G731 ST-LT/HT measures low and high temperature steam.
A backlit display, 84mm by 45mm with 240 by 128 pixel resolution, comes as standard for the entire series, providing easily readable optics. This synchronises channel averaging for precise gas measurements. They take a wide power supply range of 0-240 volts AC +/-10% at 50-60 Hz or 11-32 volts DC. A USB-C port is used for programming and data extraction.
