Emesent integrates mobile SLAM scanners with Trimble software

Emesent, an autonomous mapping and robotics company, will be exhibiting at INTERGEO 2026, an annual conference for geospatial technology, showcasing its integration of mobile Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping (SLAM) scanners with Trimble Business Centre software and the Trimble Connect collaboration platform

The integration enables direct transfer of scanning and survey data from Emesent’s high-accuracy mobile SLAM scanners into Trimble Connect, extending the use of Emesent data across Trimble’s construction management suite, including Trimble Business Centre, Tekla Structures, developing information modelling (BIM) software, and Trimble SketchUp 3D modelling software.

Emesent’s two scanners are included in this integration: Emesent GX1, an integrated mobile SLAM and Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) scanner, and Emesent Hovermap STX, a versatile mapping system designed for drone-based surveying and autonomous inspection using SLAM-based LiDAR mapping.

Both scanners use the same SLAM technology, proven in challenging environments including underground mines, GPS-denied spaces, and everyday surveying applications such as infrastructure inspection and terrain mapping.

Emesent’s integration with Trimble

Integrating Emesent’s scanner-collected data into Trimble Connect enables end-users to utilise accurate spatial data captured through Emesent’s mature, field-proven SLAM technology.

Emesent point cloud – create deliverables in Trimble

Creating a true ‘capture, connect, and create’ pipeline, raw scan data goes in, and clean point clouds come out, feeding into Building Information Modelling (BIM) models, as-builts, and digital twins within Trimble Connect and Trimble Business Centre.

  • End-users can rely on Emesent GX1 to deliver 5-10mm global accuracy with unconstrained SLAM, or 15mm global accuracy with RTK/PPK time and time again. They can also georeference data with GX1’s inbuilt premium RTK/PPK receiver or pair a Hovermap STX with Trimble’s GNSS System for RTK-validated accuracy at the point of capture.
  • Once captured, the data is processed in Emesent’s Aura Cloud, a cloud-hosted 3D data sharing and visualisation platform, generating dense, georeferenced point clouds that flow straight into Trimble Connect and Trimble Business Centre with no exports or cumbersome workarounds required.
  • With captured Emesent point cloud data available in Trimble Connect, users can build deliverables, collaborate, and share via their existing standardised workflows.
