Global Heat Transfer has launched Globaltherm DBT, a new synthetic heat transfer fluid designed to be used in the liquid phase in a closed, forced circulation heat transfer system
The new fluid is suitable for various industrial process applications, including chemical and plastics applications, as the fluid offers a reliable solution for managing temperature.
Globaltherm DBT is an efficient and organic heat transfer fluid that can provide safe and consistent heat delivery from -5°C to 350°C without requiring system pressurisation. The fluid offers precise, reliable temperature control over a wide operating range, making it suitable for both heating and cooling applications.
Designed with system compatibility in mind, the fluid is interchangeable with similar products, so manufacturers can upgrade without modifying existing equipment, making it a suitable option for those looking to improve system performance while avoiding costly downtime or engineer changes.

Globaltherm DBT has a high boiling point, excellent thermal stability and a low viscosity, all key for reliable performance in high-temperature systems.”
Globaltherm DBT is developed for use in closed-loop, unpressurised systems, lowering the risk of leaks, stress on system components, and energy loss. It is also capable of performing well at startups in colder conditions, reducing the need for heat tracing. If even lower temperature performance is needed, it can be blended safely with Globaltherm L to lower viscosity, ensuring reliable flow.
The fluid is non-corrosive and compatible with standard industrial materials, including stainless steel, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and graphite seals. Operating cleanly without forming sludge or carbon deposits when used within the recommended conditions, making it well-suited for long-term use in critical process environments.
Users of Globaltherm DBT can access Global Heat Transfer's heat transfer system management programme, Thermocare. The service includes regular testing and analysis to track fluid condition and allow operators to identify problems early and avoid more serious system issues.
