Green Pin has introduced the new Green Pin Bow Shackle SCP, also known as the Slim Shackle, a fresh approach to shackle design that combines a compact profile with a screw pin and a cotter pin

Designed for restricted spaces

In rigging applications, connecting components can be challenging when access is restricted or space is limited. Conventional shackle designs can be difficult to handle in these situations, especially when connections need to be assembled and disassembled regularly.

The Green Pin Bow Shackle SCP features a specially designed screw pin to help address this challenge. The slim, hexagonal pin head stays within the shackle body’s width, creating a compact profile that reduces the risk of snagging on surrounding equipment. This makes the Slim Shackle suitable for hard-to-access connections and confined working spaces.

The balance between speed and safety

The design combines a screw pin and a cotter pin: the screw pin enables quick assembly and disassembly, while the cotter pin adds an extra safeguard against unintended pin removal.

The Slim Shackle consists of three components: the shackle body, screw pin and cotter pin. This simplified design reduces the number of loose parts that can be misplaced or dropped during handling.

The Slim Shackle’s design offers a practical solution that combines ease of use, a compact design, and added security.

Developed with practical applications in mind

The development of the Slim Shackle was shaped by the question: how can a shackle be easier to handle in restricted spaces without compromising safety?

Aleksandr Ometov, tTechnical trainer at Royal Van Beest, developed the concept after identifying an opportunity to combine ease of use with an added level of safety. By rethinking the pin rather than the entire shackle, Green Pin has developed a solution that addresses this challenge with a focused design improvement.

Available in three sizes, with working load limits ranging from 4.75 to 9.5 tonnes, the Slim Shackle can be used in both inline and side-loading configurations, in accordance with the product’s specified limits and instructions for use.
