The IS880.2 industrial smartphone is suitable for ATEX zone 2/22
i.safe Mobile has introduced the IS880.2 industrial smartphone suitable for those in ATEX zone 2/22. This could assist those in the pharmaceutical, chemical, industrial and oil and gas sectors.
Launching at the end of October, the lightweight 4G LTE smartphone is equipped with a Push to talk (PTT)/Mission Critical PTT (MCPTT)-optimised chipset and comes with Android 14. It also features a red SOS button and a channel selection switch for individual or group PTT calls.
Despite its slim design, the IS880.2 has a powerful loudspeaker that extends across the width of the device, helpful for loud working environments. Its 5.5in screen comes provides good visibility even in bright sunlight and the 13-pin ISM interface provides a secure connection for suitable accessories.
Supplied with Android 14, the device is Android Enterprise-compliant and compatible with mobile device management tools.
Its lightweight design is coupled with a rubberised honeycomb structure, ensuring a secure grip even in harsh environments, while the fingerprint sensor on the side allows the phone to be unlocked quickly, replacing the face recognition system, which can be impeded by helmets and face protection. There is a display glove mode, allowing those with wet hands or gloves to operate the device easily.
The IS880.2 can capture real-time images and videos with its 50MP AF main camera, equipped with a flash for night shots or torch lighting for maintenance and control tasks. It allows for the transmission of voice, video and data information.
The device is supported by a replaceable 4500mAh battery, providing power for multi-shift operations and an overall long service life.
A zone 2/22-approved headset and leather case are available to support this smartphone.
The introduction of the IS990.2 follows i.safe Mobile’s release of several products built for hazardous environments earlier this year, including the 5G tablet and smart glasses.
