The new AEC-Q200-Qualified 823A series delivers reliable overcurrent protection
Industrial technology manufacturing company Littlefuse has launched its new 823A series fuse which has attained AEC-Q200-qualification. The high-voltage-rated surface-mount (SMD) fuse is designed to meet the stringent requirements of modern automotive applications.
A compact footprint of 5 x 20mm allows the 823A series to offer high levels of overcurrent protection for 1000 Vdc systems whilst taking up minimal space. The fuse series has high interrupting ratings fitted in.
Daniel Wang, senior director at Littelfuse EBU Global Product Management – OC Business, said: “The 823A Series is the first and only small-size SMD fuse from Littelfuse rated for 1000 Vdc. This groundbreaking product delivers reliable performance in harsh automotive environments, providing engineers with a compact, robust solution for the next generation of high-voltage applications.”
One of the stand-out features of the series is its wire-in-design innovation, granting the series greater temperature stability, high interrupting ratings (100A at 1kV DC), and a high I²t value in a small form factor.
Other key features include its AEC-Q200 qualification, 1000 Vdc rating, compact 5 x 20mm SMD footprint, and its wide operating temperature range from -40 ºC to 125 ºC.
Design engineers stand to benefit from enhanced system protection, optimised PCB layout, high voltage resilience, and application versatility. High inrush and surge currents can't cause nuisance openings, and the space-saving design allows for integration into compact automotive electronics.
