The UK reseller will be able to sell Matterport’s digital twin technology to businesses
Manchester Metrology has come an official Matterport reseller in the UK, authorising the company to provide businesses with Matterport’s digital twin technology, along with over technologies. These feature Matterport’s reality capture solutions, enabling companies to create precise interactive 3D models of physical spaces.
Matterports technology can be used to create digital twins for manufacturing production floors. Businesses can achieve high levels of control over their production environments using the detailed 3D models, allowing for analysis and optimisation without physical presence on-site.
Machinery, workflows, and critical space dimensions can be captured entirely using Matterport’s Pro3 camera. Conduct inspections, equipment layout adjustments, and spotting potential inefficiencies can all be performed remotely because of the digital twin system.
Remote visits and inspections can be completed without the need of travel. Collaboration can be improved as teams from different locations can work seamlessly to plan facilities, and space and be optimised through 3D planning of a plant.
Running these practises through a computer program can save time and cost, as simulations can give significantly faster response times and do not require the costs associated with travel and labour for experimenting with factory layouts. Training can also be conducted via simulation, reducing cost and increasing the speed it can be achieved without any risk of injury to the trainee. This can allow trainees to familiarise themselves with the shop floor before they step foot into the factory.
This technology is possible because of the deployment of the Pro3 camera which captures 3D images and has a custom 20-megapixel sensor and advanced LiDAR capabilities. The camera can work in a range of light conditions, making it useable in a range of situations. It can process both indoor machinery layouts as well as outdoor logistical spaces.
Time and costs associated with in-person visits are cut, creating a more efficient and productive working environment for planners. Communication is improved between teams and external partners allowing planners to explain their thoughts in full.
This solution is now being provided by Manchester Metrology to businesses in the UK, allowing them to managed and optimise their production floors using the Pro3 camera. Real-world operational challenges by providing a fully digital approach to facility management.
