Amsys releases its air bubble detector for non-invasive, continuous monitoring of liquids
Mainz based sales company Amsys has now launched its own high-precision bubble detector on the market, after 25 years of advising clients on sensors for industrial and medical applications. It has now released its own AD-102.
The AD-102 can be used to detect an interruption in fluid flow in applications such as infusion pumps, hemodialysis, blood flow monitoring, as well as 3D printing and food processing.
It is used for non-invasive, continuous monitoring of liquids to detect air bubbles in liquid flow. It can detect air bubbles of only 25% of the hose diameter and its signal and stop the supply within 0.5ms of detection.
A variety of versions are available, with standard hose diameters of 6mm, but a further range between 3mm to 10mm available upon request. Air bubbles with a volume of 0.5µl or 300µm radius can be detected.
Medical sensors must be highly accurate and reliable at all times, with high resilience to external influences. This places not only high demands on sensors but also on manufacturers. TE connectivity was selected by Amsys as a manufacturer due to its 25 year history in manufacturing in this sector.
The sensor can be used in; infusion and syringe pumps, apheresis and auto-transfusion, biotech and DNA analysis, blood processing, immunoassay, chemical analysis, hemodialysis, in-vivo detection of gas, hydroponics, smart farming, food processing, and 3D printing.
It can work across a temperature range of 0°C – 60°C and has an input of 5VDC, leading to an output of 5.0V TTL Logic. The detector is immune to EMI/RFI and does not require an acoustic coupling agent.
