Sandvik is ramping up expanded rock drill manufacturing capacity at its Tampere manufacturing site.
The SEK 260m investment programme was designed to increase rock drill production capacity at the site.

Since its launch in 2023, the site has experienced factory expansion, the integration of new machine tools and automation systems, and increased production. The programme has now been implemented in its full scope.
Sanwik completed the 1,600m² expansion to the Tampere factory in 2024, with the installation of new tools following shortly thereafter in 2025. During 2026, Sandvik is shifting its focus to the installation and ramp-up of advanced automation systems, with production volumes set to continue increasing during 2027.
