A new battery energy storage solution to provide advanced energy management
Schneider Electric, a global energy technology specialist, has launched its Schneider Boost Pro in the UK. The local battery energy storage solution will feature for the first time in the UK on Schneider Electric’s stand at the Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC Birmingham, April 21-23, 2026
Schneider Boost Pro enables commercial and industrial sites to cut energy costs, reduce their carbon footprint, and ensure smooth operations.
Driven by electrification and the growing transition from CO2-intensive oil and gas-based production to more sustainable manufacturing methods, renewables now produce 44% of the UK’s electricity according to the National Energy Systems Operators (NESO). Increasing this figure is proving challenging due to renewable variability, intermittency, and the need for grid modernisation to deliver a flexible, interactive system.
Schneider Boost Pro can support the energy transition by providing energy storage capabilities that improve flexibility, stability, and efficiency in power supply across industrial and commercial buildings.
The Schneider Boost Pro battery storage system is suitable for depot environments to help charge heavy-duty vehicles such as buses and trucks, and for integration into transit infrastructure, where reliable, high-capacity charging solutions are vital.
Scalable from 200kWh to 2MWh, by combining up to 10 units, Schneider Boost Pro is part of Schneider Electric’s end-to-end solution to optimise energy operations as demand grows. This solution includes power distribution, EV chargers, edge control, software, and services.
Schneider Boost Pro provides benefits tailored to the requirements of modern buildings through the following use cases:
- Self-Consumption Optimisation: Stores surplus renewable energy to maximise its use and increase energy independence.
- Extra Power Allocation: Balances energy use across different sites, using a pre-charged battery energy storage system when demand exceeds available energy. Also provides reliable backup power during outages.
- Tariff Management: Customers can manage self-consumption and load shifting. Battery charges during off-peak hours and discharges during peak hours to reduce energy costs.
The Schneider Boost Pro Battery Energy Storage System includes:
- Scalability: Up to ten units can be combined to provide a total capacity of up to 2MWh.
- Certified cybersecurity: Comprehensive data protection and encrypted communications are ensured to meet the highest security standards.
- AI insights: Integrated with EcoStruxure Microgrid Advisor, a cloud-based, AI solution that forecasts weather conditions, site production, demand schemes, and market conditions, to facilitate more accurate predictions and optimised decision-making.
- Support and service: Expert installation, tailored service and maintenance plans, rapid response times, and the option for remote maintenance to ensure maximum system uptime.
Schneider Boost Pro enables businesses to provide intelligent, flexible energy management through smart battery storage. This is essential in the new energy landscape as it can balance the variability of renewable energy sources and reduce pressure on the grid during peak demand. It allows businesses to become more resilient, efficient, and sustainable in their operations so they can reshape their energy stratergies for the future.
