The WEGSEE+ allows operators to identify ROI before implementing changes
Electric vehicle manufacturer WEG has launched WEGSEE+, a software platform that can simulate energy efficient projects.
WEGSEE+ collects information to examine the energy impact of changes to electric motors, drives and gearboxes.
“The launch of WEGSEE+ marks a significant step forward in energy management for industrial applications,” said Marek Lukaszczyk, the marketing manager for Europe and the Middle East at WEG. “By simulating the impact of different equipment configurations, WEGSEE+ reduces time and energy consumption.”
The software’s interface displays detailed insights about potential energy savings based on simulations, identifying KPIs on energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions of potential energy saving solutions.
This enables operators to assess the potential return on investment of energy saving projects before having to use resources to implement the changes.
“WEG has always prioritised sustainability,” continued Lukaszczyk. “The launch of WEGSEE+ enables our customers to take energy management into their own hands and optimise resources in an intelligent way.”
The launch of WEGSEE+ comes at a time when nearly half of the energy produced in Europe is consumed by industrial equipment. The need to manage energy costs are driving both companies and governments to monitor and minimise energy consumption.
Earlier this year, WEG introduced the W23 Sync+ motor, which combines permanent magnet (PM), ferrite or neodymium magnets and synchronous reluctance (SynRM) motor technologies to provide higher efficiency across all speeds compared to conventional induction motors.
WEG has also focussed on the simplification of motor control and maintenance this year, making both user and energy efficiency a priority.
