Global motor and automation manufacturer, WEG, will be displaying its display of ultra-high-efficiency motors
WEG, a global motor and automation manufacturer, will exhibit at SPE Offshore Europe from September 2 to 5, 2025, at stand 3E64
The show, held in Aberdeen, Scotland, will provide a platform for WEG to display its portfolio of ultra-high-efficiency motors, along with digital solutions and renewable energy technologies.
The new W23 Sync+ motor will be on show, featuring a permanent magnet synchronous reluctance (PM SynRM) range that offers improved energy efficiency. It also has a unique rotor design and reduced thermal losses.
The W23 Sync+ reaches IE5 efficiency, whereas the W23 Sync+ ultra achieves IE6. Both motors are designed for users seeking to cut energy consumption and support decarbonisation goals.
In addition to the W23 range, the W22 IE4 and W22Xe motor series will also be featured. The W22 IE4 motors enhance industrial efficiency, helping to cut operating costs and meet stricter regulations.
For certified explosion-proof requirements, the W22Xe can perform in hazardous environments.
The W80 AxGen motor will be on display, a compact axial-fluid motor with high torque density and a reduced footprint, designed to work in space-constrained offshore environments.
WEG will present a range of technologies for both the offshore and energy transition sectors, including the WG20 and WG50 gear units, durable Cemp and Marathon motors, part of the WEG Group, and high-performance CFW drives.
Live demonstrations of the CFW500 and CFW900 drives will show their suitability for pumps, compressors and fans due to their precise control, improved efficiency and the ability to extend equipment lifespan.
To complement its motor and drive systems, WEG will be showcasing its specialised coatings portfolio, including industrial paints and varnishes designed for marine vessels and the oil industry.
The coatings provide protection in harsh offshore environments, helping to extend equipment lifespan and reduce maintenance downtime.
WEG's stand will also display its battery storage systems (BESS), solar inverters and solutions for wind power applications to show its growing offering in renewable and sustainable energy.
The development and adoption of hydrogen solutions are crucial for the global energy transition, and WEG is contributing to this effort with its W51Xdb motor, engineered explicitly for explosive environments such as hydrogen production and distribution.
The W51Xdb is flameproof and efficient, helping industrial users embrace hydrogen as a safe and viable alternative in the push towards net-zero emissions.

The company will also feature its Motion Fleet Management (MFM) platform, a smart, cloud-based system that allows for the real-time monitoring of motors, drives and gearboxes across industrial fleets. MFM helps operators track equipment condition, schedule maintenance, and prevent costly unplanned downtime, increasing asset reliability and reducing total cost of ownership.
