Supply chain optimisation made easy

New version of software enables the convenient optimisation of strategic corporate networks in production as well as in distribution

At the end of July 2006 Axxom Software AG is introducing the new version of ORion-PIR Value Network Optimization.

Version 2.0 of the solution for the optimisation of supply chain networks responds with an extensive advancement of the range of functionalities to the increasing requirements of the market.

The new version enables the convenient optimisation of strategic corporate networks in production as well as in distribution. A completely revised user interface, new visualisations of the network as well as an amplification of the innovative optimisation technology count among the new functionalities.

A completely revised user interface that offers the intuitive and exemplary handling of all functionalities significantly improves the usability of the application.

Furthermore the system provides – apart from the geographical view of the network – a structural display of all logistics processes and value flows. Thus process and material flows in the supply chain can be visualised quickly and transparently.

Compared with the previous version Axxom could improve the computing and evaluation power of its technology. Advanced optimisation algorithms allow for the calculation of models twenty times larger in half the time and with less memory requirements than an MILP-model. In addition to that an improved evaluation package is available which calculates realistic results based on a large amount of planning data.

With ORion-PIR Value Network Optimization 2.0 Axxom offers extended possibilities for the integration with other systems and applications. The improved link to MS-Excel now allows smooth transfer of all relevant data.

With the aid of a certified IDOC-interface, via Netweaver or HiveR data can be synchronised directly with SAP-applications. The access to global terrestrial information – from geonames.org to map&guide or Google Earth – has been facilitated in such a way that from now on all essential data needed for the calculation of optimal network structures is available.

Interested parties can get a general idea of the software by using a new test and evaluation package.
