Packed with industry experts, this event takes place in Houston’s engineering hotbed
Next week, the Powder and Bulk Solids Texas Conference (PBS Texas Conference) will take place, with industry experts sharing experiences and advice about working in the bulk materials and processing industry. From 10th to 11th September, registered attendees can get to know fellow chemical, processing, mechanical, project, production and materials engineers.
There will be presentations, panels and tabletop exhibits about a range of topics, including dust control, processing and quality and wet and dry processing.
The event commences with a networking breakfast before diving into an exploration of how today’s workforce is spread across four distinct generations. The schedule later follows with topics such as the basics of dust collection and particle characterisation and measurement.
Another event of note is the Women in Processing panel on the conference’s second day. Attendees can listen to four female industry experts reflect on their experiences in dry processing and bulk solids handling, representing ExxonMobil, Element6 Solutions, Jenike & Johanson, and Dow.
Rounding off that evening will be a lecture by Texas A&M lecturers Mark Johnson and Shayla Rivera, covering safety, sustainability and public welfare. The university is currently ranked seventh in the list of top public engineering schools in the USA.
The hometown of plastic manufacturer ExxonMobil headquarters, Houston is a busy hub for the engineering community.
