Micro-percussion marking machine operates at 10 characters per second or marks Datamatrix codes in five seconds
Technifor claims that its new XF510Cp micro-percussion marking machine is the world’s fastest in its category, marking up to 10 characters per second, which is said to be twice as fast as the preceding generations of such machines, or Datamatrix codes in just five seconds.
It is also twice as compact and has multiple communication interfaces, making it particularly easy to integrate. The XF510Cp is suitable for precision marking applications in mass production industries, such as automotive, locks and keys, pneumatic components, electronic components and sensors.
Technifor’s engineers have completely redesigned the marking head’s mechanical guidance system and its associated electronics. First, the use of latest-generation electronic components has shortened computing times. Second, the to-and-fro path of the marking head has been optimised. Lastly, a new motor control system has been installed and new micromechanical components have also been incorporated.
Its high marking speed means that the XF510Cp does not lengthen production cycle times; part marking times will almost always be shorter than the time taken by other steps in the manufacturing process.
The XF510Cp marking head has extremely small dimensions and weighs only 2.3kg. This makes it simple to integrate into production lines, on rotary tables, robot arms and elsewhere. It has a marking area that measures 20 x 50mm.
Furthermore, the unit is easy also to use. Its UC500 remote control unit has an interface in a choice of 17 languages, manages 13 types of keyboard and has a universal power supply compatible with voltages from 90-250V. The control software is also very user-friendly, based on pictograms, and offers multiple marking options: fixed text, variable text (dates, counters, shifts, variables, etc), logos, Datamatrix codes, linear, angular or radial marking, etc.
The standard version of the XF510Cp has an eight-input, four-output board and RS232, USB and Ethernet ports. It can be controlled via Ethernet or an RS232 link. The USB port is used for backups, software updating, transfer of marking files, logos and fonts, and backing up the marking files – which can number up to 1000.
Many options are available, including column and adapter plate, Windows-compatible marking program and cycle start/emergency stop button box.
“
