The new material handler has an upgraded performance, longer reach and higher lifting capabilities
Develon, formerly Doosan Construction Equipment, launched its new DX270WMH-7 wheeled material handler
The DX270WMH-7 utilises the Develon 6-cylinder, turbocharged DL06V water-cooled diesel engine, producing an output (SAE J1995) of 141kW (189hp) at 1900rpm.
Upgraded performance
Incorporating new undercarriage, arm, and boom designs, as well as elevating cab and counterweight designs, the DX270WMH-7 is designed for next-level performance in the most challenging tasks across a broad range of material sorting and handling applications. The latter includes handling scrap metal and other solid waste, as well as those involved in recycling, demolition, and the timber industry.
The newly designed undercarriage of the DX270WMH-7 features heavy-duty, wide axles and longer, broader dimensions with a matching wheelbase to ensure stability when working with the machine.
The new hydraulic cab riser design features an increased elevation range of 2603mm and provides improved all-around visibility of the attachment and work area for the operator. The latest DXW-7 cab design has a comfortable interior and ergonomic layout, including an 8-inch gauge panel and intelligent controls.
The elevating cab's structural reinforcements ensure smoother operation and provide improved protection for components such as hoses and greasing lines. Two safety valves for emergency cab descent have also been added, one inside the cab and the other on the outside.
Extended reach and lifting capacity
The DX270WMH-7 offers improved performance without compromising on dimensions, featuring a longer reach and higher lifting capacity. It comes standard with a straight arm and gives options for the gooseneck and long gooseneck arms as alternatives.
A standard coupling and bucket linkage for sorting grapples is offered with the standard straight arm. The gooseneck arms are a cost-effective solution, used where suspended attachments are employed.
Ergonomic joysticks and a steering wheel make the new material handler easy to operate. The machine also comes with two-way auxiliary and rotate circuit hydraulics to improve efficiency. Operators can use buttons on the joysticks or use an optional foot pedal to control auxiliary attachments.
Smart Power Control (SPC), a Develon-developed system, improves machine efficiency, maintains productivity using variable speed control and pump torque control, and automatically adjusts RPMs according to the load being handled.
Built to Match
Utilising years of experience with previous models, the DX270WMH-7 is engineered to meet the needs of waste and recycling operations. Its wide undercarriage with individually controlled stabilisers ensures balance and durability. A reversing fan comes standard to help maintain optimal engine temperatures, automatically clearing dust and debris from the cooling system.
To improve operator and site safety, the machine has an innovative virtual wall system that allows for customisable operating boundaries, preventing accidental contact with obstacles in front of the machine or with ceilings when working indoors. The system also prevents the risk of contact between the attachment and the cab, as well as the surrounding area.
