The S23 features modern grinding technology
Unveiled at the EMO trade fair in Hanover, the S23 is a compact universal cylindrical grinding machine with modern grinding technology from Fritz Studer

The CNC universal cylindrical grinding machine features technology that includes the modern C.O.R.E. hardware and software architecture, an automatic B-axis with a 1° Hirth coupling for up to three grinding tools, frequency-controlled motor spindles or belt drives, and a machine base made of Granitan with thermal and vibration characteristics.
The S23's arrangement of the wheelhead provides it with improved versatility for grinding tools in a single clamping, enhancing efficiency, particularly with geometrically complex workpieces. The S23 features contact detection, semi-automatic balancing of the external grinding wheel and, optionally, an in-process measuring system.
The S23 has been designed to be a solution for a range of customers, capable of grinding small to medium-sized workpieces in both single and series production.
Studer sales manager, Rolf Grossenbacher, said, "The S23 is ideal for production in the tool and die, automotive and supplier, aerospace, and in the medical technology industries."
Additionally, customers have numerous configuration options to adapt the machine to their personal production requirements. These include a C-axis for thread and out-of-round grinding, as well as an optional swivelling table.
