In modern premium marine environments, design consistency has become as essential as performance. As darker finishes and contrast-driven interiors define modern vessels, even small hardware details play an increasingly important role in the overall experience
Responding to this shift, Southco has launched Black PVD-coated versions of its M1 Compression Latch and E6 Contrast Torque Hinge, offering a cohesive look to visible marine access points without compromising durability.
Designed as complementary solutions, the Black PVD-coated M1 latch and E6 hinge deliver a unified appearance across visible access points. The shared glossy black finish enables visual consistency across compartments, hatches, and interior panels while retaining performance.
The M1 Black PVD-coated Compression Latch expands on Southco’s stainless steel platform, providing corrosion resistance for harsh marine environments. The PVD finish improves UV resistance and long-term appearance, helping the hardware to maintain its look over time.
The E6 Constant Torque Hinge provides smooth, controlled motion while holding lids, hatches, or panels in any user-defined position and is available with a Black UV-protective coating.
By providing the M1 latch and E6 hinge in a matching Black PVD finish, Southco is enabling designers to create interiors that feel intentional and cohesive, without compromising durability.
The Black PVD-coated M1 and E6 solutions are suitable for applications such as yacht interiors, deck storage compartments, floor-mounted access panels, and interior side compartments. While marine applications represent a primary focus, the products are also applicable to RV and speciality vehicle markets.
The Black PVD-coated M1 Compression Latch and E6 Constant Torque Hinge are available beginning August 2026. Samples, product literature, and training materials will be available through Southco’s global sales and distribution network.
