A new line of SiTec conveyor safety switches will be announced by Spohn and Burkhardt

MINExpo 2024 will be the site of Spohn and Burkhardts’ new SiTec conveyor safety switches debut. Certain models are currently undergoing UL certification, but for the first time, the SiTec pull-wire emergency stop switches and position misalignment switches are available to the North American market.

SiTec safety switches grant fast and reliable emergency response capabilities, designed specifically for the toughest of conditions, such as mining and industrial environments. These switches are effective in heat, dust or heavy usage. Seamless integration with existing conveyor systems along with new system designs make the switches accessible to a range of applications. They are specifically designed to be durable and reliable.

Malfunctions are detected and reported immediately due to the system's robust rope-break detection feature. Added to this is the system's SiTec pull wire emergency stop switch, allowing for quick emergency stops across the conveyor system. Versatile configuration options are granted by the durable aluminium double-sided switch which can have up to six silver or gold-plated contacts added.

Critical safeguarding against conveyor belt shift is provided by the SiTec PSA position misalignment switch, which monitors the conveyor belt system. Depending on the configuration of settings, warning signals or system shutdown protocols are activated once misalignment is detected. Housed in aluminium casing, up to four silver contacts can be fitted to grant monitoring in demanding conditions.

The switches are certified with EN ISO 13850 and DIN EN 60947-5-1 standards and feature an IP67 rating to ensure all international regulations are met. Ex rating is possible for any applications that require explosion protection.

The new switches will be on display in Spohn and Burkhardt’s booth, #2175 in the North Hall, here visitors will be able to learn more about the technology.
