New 160-cc displacement expands Danfloss’s range

Danfloss has expanded its range of open circuit high power axial piston pumps with its new 160-cc displacement size. The new pump has a robust design and performance, meeting a variety of heavy-duty mobile and industrial machinery applications.

The D1P 160-cc pump has a robust, reliable, and efficient design. It uses angled piston bores and spherical valves plates to give it a higher efficiency performance in the rotating group. Increased durability compared to traditional sliding frictionless bearings is provided by low friction roller-element cradle bearings. These are standard on the pumps.

A pressure rating of 350 bar continuous and 400 bar intermittent with flow capabilities of up to 400 litres per minute is possible using the pump. It has a 2,500rpm maximum speed rating which provides high power density. This helps it achieve an integrated charge pump and advanced cylinder-block design.

Engine stalling or electric motor overload is prevented by mechanical torque controls along with electronic displacement controls with manual override. This provides a precise work function speed control. ATEX cerfitications are available on mechanical control configurations, enabling pump usage in hazardous environments.

Martin Blank, senior product application engineer at Danfoss Power Solutions, said: “The D1P open circuit pump family was designed to provide customers with flexible, robust, efficient solutions for demanding applications. We’re living up to that promise with the addition of the 160-cc displacement. The new size provides our customers with a wider range of choices to find the perfect match for their application. It also addresses a gap in the market for this size pump. As hydraulic pressures and flows trend upward, Danfoss will be there with solutions to meet the evolving needs of mobile and industrial machinery.”

The D1P family’s shared control platform and range of displacements allows for the pumps adaptability to different machine models. Existing 65-cc, 130-cc, 145-cc, 193-cc, and 260-cc sizes are compatible with the new 160-cc. The 160-cc shares the same envelope size as the previous 130-cc and 145-cc models.

D1P pumps are designed to work with Danfloss PVG 128 and PVG 256 high-flow spool valves,. This creates a systems solution for high-flow applications. Combining products provide efficient, precise machine movements across a range of flow requirements.
