New dispensable thermal gel from Parker Hannifin’s Chomerics Division

The dispensable thermal gel has 7.5W/m-K typical thermal conductivity

The Chomerics Division of Parker Hannifin, specialists in motion control technologies, has released its new Therm-Gap Gel 75VT, a dispensable thermal gel with 7.5W/m-K typical thermal conductivity

The Gel 75VT was subjected to various long-term reliability tests to ensure it is ideal for conducting heat away from electronics to heatsinks or enclosures. The product passed high-vibration testing, vertical slump testing and telecommunications thermal material verification processes.

The product is applicable in a wide range of systems, including automotive sensors and devices, telecommunications modules, battery energy and storage system modules, industrial electronics, network and IT infrastructure, power electronics, and consumer electronics.

The Gel 75VT does not require mixing or secondary curing and has a 15-25g/min flow rate; only a low compressive force is needed to ensure deformation under assembly pressure. Users can dispense the thermal gel manually or through automated dispensing machines at multiple bond line thicknesses, up to 4mm.

Fully RoHS-compliant, the electrical properties of Therm-a-Gap Gel 75VT include a dielectric strength of 7.9kVas/mm, a volume resistivity of 1014 Ωcm, a dielectric constant of 5.2 at 1000kHz/0.76mm thick, and a dissipation factor of 0.003 at 1000kHz/0.76mm thick.
