Siemens has partnered with Sparepartsnow, a German B2B platform, to make refurbished Siemens automation products more accessible to industrial customers. Through Sparepartsnow’s digital marketplace, customers can purchase manufacturer-refurbished Siemens products
The new approach combines Siemens’ expertise as the original equipment manufacturer in refurbishing its automation products with Sparepartsnow’s digital platform, providing a reliable source for Siemens refurbished drives, controllers, and HMI panels.
Extending product lifecycles and keeping valuable equipment in use for longer enables the partnership to support customers’ operational continuity while contributing to a more circular economy. Customers will benefit from high-quality refurbished products that meet the original manufacturer’s technical specifications and performance characteristics.
Stefan Jäger, head of Circular Product Services at Siemens, said, “This partnership with Sparepartsnow reinforces our commitment to providing customers with circular lifecycle solutions without compromising on quality or performance. Customers can confidently choose Siemens’ refurbished products, knowing they meet the original manufacturer’s high-quality standards. Every product undergoes a rigorous refurbishment process and comprehensive testing to ensure it meets its original technical specifications, performance characteristics, and applicable industry and safety standards.”
Dr Christian Hoffart, CEO of Sparepartsnow, said, “This partnership with Siemens transforms circularity into a scalable solution, bringing value to our industrial customers. As these products were refurbished by their original manufacturer, we and our customers can trust in Siemens’ quality and reliability.”
Siemens’ refurbishment approach includes previously used Siemens automation products that Siemens has professionally restored to the same technical specifications and performance characteristics as when they were originally placed on the market.
Every device undergoes a standardised refurbishment process that consists of technical repair, required hardware and software updates, visual restoration where necessary, and comprehensive quality testing in accordance with Siemens production standards and manufacturer specifications.
Siemens refurbished products are not functionally modified or performance enhanced, and retain their original technical specification and product characteristics while meeting the safety, conformity, and cybersecurity requirements in place at the time of their original placement on the market. Siemens releases a refurbished product for sale only after it has passed all Siemens’ functional and quality test standards.
The partnership reflects Siemens and Sparepartsnow’s shared commitment to advancing circularity in industry by extending product lifecycles, enhancing equipment availability, and helping reduce waste and conserve resources.
Siemens’ refurbishment approach will initially be available in Europe for a defined portfolio of automation products, with plans to continuously expand the product range and regional availability.
